At Meadowtown Dental Centre, we believe in community participation and giving back at every opportunity. We are proud to be part of the fabric of Pitt Meadows, and here are some highlights of our community involvement:
Meadowtown Dental is a Gold Sponsor of Pitt Meadows Day
As we reflect on what it means to be a corporate citizen here in Pitt Meadows, we feel that we are becoming part of the area’s rich history by pioneering the latest dental techniques and procedures. To show our commitment to our friends and neighbours, we are taking an active role in Pitt Meadows Day this year, walking in the parade, and being a GOLD sponsor of the event.
The History of Pitt Meadows Day
According to Pitt Meadows Museum and Archives, our community in the 1930s was a large strawberry growing area. Before 1937, residents used to go to Port Coquitlam celebrate May Day, but in 1937, they wanted to initiate their own May Day celebration. At the time, the event was called the “Strawberry Festival.” Over time, the “Strawberry Festival” moved from May to June and became known as “Pitt Meadows Day,” which better reflected growth of the community and its corresponding diversity.
